FLIR’s outdoor perimeter security cameras combine two FLIR Lepton® thermal sensors with IR and visible LED illuminators to provide business owners with complete peace of mind. As seasoned experts in the realm of outdoor security cameras, FLIR and Marco are no strangers to the issue of environmental variability. The main design challenge they faced when creating Saros was figuring out how to prevent raindrops from sticking on the lens and reducing visibility. To overcome this obstacle, Marco analyzed potential angles of rain to develop a series of strategically placed visors that hide the lens from falling drops to prevent an obstruction of view.
